Marvel why I smile in hardship?
Why I stay strong in pain?
Every scar is a medal
That bears the wars I fought and lived,
Though countless ticktocks round the clock
Keep count of my nights and days in toil
But pelt me not with pity,
Let me be the beast I choose.
